Domain Name Marketplace - Forum Rules
In order to prevent problems and issues between forum members, please follow our simple forum marketplace rules. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of our staff members or administrators.
Bumping & Crossposting
Bumping your topic to the top is acceptable if your post adds information about your sale or if you are replying to another member's post. Only one bump is allowed per 24 hours. You may not post the same names in different categories (crossposting).
Traffic & Income Claims
If you claim traffic or income, you must provide proof within your topic. Proof can be screenshots, links to live traffic stats etc. If you cannot provide proof, no traffic / income will be assumed.
Domain Name Details
When posting your domain name for sale, you must include the name within the title or topic. We do not allow posts like "check out my signature" or "PM me for the name".
Hidden Fees
We do not allow any hidden fees. Posting something like "Add 4% Paypal Fees" is not acceptable as it is against Paypal's terms of service. If you want to charge any fees, include them in your asking price. A statement like "Buyer and Seller split Escrow fees" is acceptable.
IDN Domain Names
When posting IDN domains, make sure to state that you are selling a IDN name. We do not allow our members to trick others into buying IDN's. That said, you must clearly state that you are selling a IDN domain. IDN's may only be posted into our
ccTLD & IDN Domain forum. Other marketplace forums are reserved for non-IDN names.
++++++ Forum Specific Rules ++++++
Domain Sales
The basic rule for all sales is simple: If you are selling your domain name in multiple forums, you need to mention it. If posting an auction at DNF24, you cannot post the same auction on other forums as this would cause confusion.
Premium Domain Sales
When posting a premium domain name (US$ 1000+) for sale, make sure to include the following details within your post:
- Domain Name
- Registrar
- Expiration Date
- Type of sale (Fixed Price / Make Offer / Auction)
- Payment Terms (Paypal, Escrow, Moneybookers...)
- Traffic / Income Statement (if applicable)
Domain Name Auctions
When posting a domain name auction, make sure to include the following details within your post:
- Domain Name
- Registrar
- Expiration Date
- Start Bid
- Minimum Bid Increments
- Auction End Date (can be something like "48 hours after the last bid")
You are not allowed to use a "Reserve Price". If you have a reserve price in mind, list it as "Start Bid" to ensure you will receive the money you are looking for. Participating in an auction is binding as soon as at least one bid was made. This means that you cannot close or edit your auction as soon as another member placed a bid.
All bids must be placed within the auction topic. Claiming you have received a bid by PM is not acceptable as all bids must be posted within your auction topic.
Domains For Sale - Fixed Price
When posting a fixed price domain name for sale, make sure to include the following details within your post:
- Domain Name
- Registrar
- Expiration Date
- Price
- Payment Terms (Paypal, Escrow, Moneybookers...)
- Traffic / Income Statement (if applicable)
Domains For Sale - Make Offer
When posting a "make offer" domain name for sale, make sure to include the following details within your post:
- Domain Name
- Registrar
- Expiration Date
- Minimum Amount
- Payment Terms (Paypal, Escrow, Moneybookers...)
- Traffic / Income Statement (if applicable)
The reason why we are asking for a minimum amount is because we do not want to waste your or the buyer's time. If you are looking for US$ 100 or more, you should add "Accepting offers of US$ 100 or more". It would make no sense if you are looking for US$ 100 and other members start offering US$ 5.
Domain Names Wanted
When looking for a domain name, make sure to include the following details within your post:
- Type of domain (generic, LLLL, etc)
- Domain Extension (com/net/org...)
- Other Requirements
- Your Budget
