Domain offer: Does something smell funny here?

Hi,
I've had a number of domains I've had in circulation for seven or eight years and I just got this email yesterday.

He's not asking for an appraisal, his offer is a little high but not ridiculous, but still...

What should make me leery about this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Subject: Serious offer for MastersDegreeOnline.net - Hello, I would like to offer you $3000 for this domain and would also pay all associated fees via Escrow.com Thanks for your consideration and look forward to hearing back from you.

Most times the appraisal scam comes in later so just stay in touch and wait to see what happens. If Escrow clears the funds you should be fine. Just don't release the domain before your funds are safe. Many people create fake Escrow emails that make you think they are from Escrow while they are just forged.
